A company based in Erbil is seeking to fill the following position. Please note that only highly qualified candidates will be contacted: 1. Construction Quality Control (CQC) Manager - Aviation Facility Project Location: Erbil Governorate, Iraq Project: Design and Construction of a New Aviation Facility Job Description: We are looking for a qualified CQC Manager to oversee the quality control processes for the construction of a New Aviation Facility. The CQC Manager will ensure that all work meets the required quality standards and complies with project specifications, industry codes, and government regulations. Employment will be on a 1-year contract basis with possible renewal. Key Responsibilities: • Submittal Management: Take the lead in developing and managing the submittal process. This includes the coordination and review of Preconstruction Submittals, Shop Drawings, Product Data, Samples, and Design Data. o Ensure all submittals are compliant with the technical requirements outlined and submitted in a timely manner for government approval. o Critical submittals include structural drawings, grading plans, roof and wall analysis, vertical lift fabric doors, fire protection systems, and HVAC specifications. • Client Approvals: Work with the project team to ensure all submittals that require client approval are submitted early in the project and followed up on until approval is received. o This includes the Geotechnical Report, Weld Procedure Specification, Structural Drawings and Analysis, and Electrical Systems Design. • Inspections and Testing: Oversee all on-site quality control inspections and testing of materials such as concrete, steel, and electrical systems. Coordinate with independent testing agencies to ensure compliance with project specifications. • Documentation: Maintain and submit detailed documentation for all submittals, approvals, and inspections. Ensure that as-built drawings and closeout documents are prepared and submitted to the client. • Quality Control Oversight: Work with the Site Superintendent to ensure that the project meets all quality standards, including proper material handling, structural integrity, and adherence to the project's technical requirements. • Final Inspections: Conduct final inspections of the completed Design and Construction of the New Aviation Facility to verify that it meets all quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with government regulations and project specifications. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction quality control, with specific experience in military or aviation-related projects preferred. • Familiarity with design and build contracts and 3-phase quality control requirements. • Proficient in quality control methodologies, including inspection, testing, and documentation. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings. • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail in reporting and documentation. • Certifications in CQC management or a related discipline are highly desirable. • Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written) *Local nationals only.
