WEO is seeking a Cash Distribution Officer for a 6-month contract in Baquba, Diyala. The role involves supervising cash assistance activities, preparing reports, and ensuring proper distribution of funds to workers.
Job Description Cash Distribution (CVA) Officer Department: Programs Duty Station: Baquba – Diyala Contract Duration: 6 months Important note: The selection of this position is subjected to donor approval. Project Description Women Empowerment Organisation (WEO) in partnership with People in Need (PIN) and funded by the Iraqi Humanitarian Fund (IHF) will implement a project in Diyala (Ba'quba) to improve the livelihoods of conflict affected IDPs through provision of Multi-Purpose Cash Assistant with the goal of reducing the negative coping mechanisms in the households that are in critical livelihood situation. Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and overall supervision of Director of Programs, the CVA Officer shall perform the following duties: 1- Supervise (on a daily basis) the Cash Assistance activities in the different projects’ sites. 2- Update and collect (on a daily basis) attendance sheets. 3- Provide weekly reports of the progress of the works. 4- Timely prepare Payment Request Forms (PRF) for worker's payments. 5- Timely update and collect all the needed supporting documents to submit the PRF. 6- Ensure that cash assistance tools and materials are properly distributed to the workers and stored at the end of the activities. 7- Support finance team in timely delivery of payments to the cash for work workers and team leaders. 8- Facilitate awareness sessions on safety and security procedures in the workplace (at the beginning of each cash assistance round). 9- Conduct/lead field assessment for cash assistance participants. 10- Ensure the target group for cash for work is registered, verified to comply with selection criteria and evaluation. 11- Prepare daily reports according to agreed timelines on activities undertaken during the cash assistance activities including challenges encountered and best practice methods. 12- Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the direct supervisor. Required qualifications and Skills • Bachelor University Degree; • At least one year of related experience in the humanitarian field; • Excellent written and verbal communication skills mainly in Kurdish and Arabic, English language is a plus; • Should be familiar with the area or the locality they are working in; • Ability to work independently and confidence to undergo household visits; • Computer literacy to be able to work on smartphone-based data collection applications; • Demonstrated experience in household surveys (baseline/evaluations); • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills; • Good communication skills and experience in participatory methodology; • Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision; • Strong organizational skills; • High professional ethics and confidentiality standards in a diverse workplace; • Conducting field trips and travel to other cities as per job requirement; • Flexibility with regard to long working hours or working in weekends if required.
