JOB TITLE: Iraq Media Analyst (News, Geo-politics, or Media fields) LOCATION: FULL TIME position based in Erbil – Kurdistan Region of Iraq. We are looking for a driven individual, responsible for information coming from their assigned analysts and media platforms covering news in Arabic mainly, have an appetite for news and geo-political landscapes. Responsibilities include, organizing the data, evaluating its accuracy, liaising with the analysts to determine accuracy to be able to produce reports and media analysis. DESCRIPTION • 2 years of relevant experience in journalism, research, or media analysis. • Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in journalism or media science. • Experience in research and analysis and processes with experience in report writing and data collection. • Strong appetite for geopolitical environments with a high interest in regional geopolitics. • Must have excellent publicly available information research capabilities and news monitoring. • Must possess strong English writing and editing skills to produce concise summaries of news topics with minimal formatting or grammar errors. • Arabic is mandatory. • Must be reliable and able to meet firm deadlines. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. IDEAL BACKGROUND - Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, media, Social Media, News, Geo-politics, or Media fields. - 2+ years’ proven experience in a Media Analyst position of Media Fields. - Ability to monitoring media coverage and preparing press reviews. - Analyze and synthesize information and data - Ability to translate reports and project documents from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic. - Excellent communication skills. - Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). WORKING HOURS Standard full-time job needs and requires on a daily basis: a solid 8 hours of work spread over a window of 12 hours of media coverage. SALARY PACKAGE: Between 1000 - 1200 USD depending on experience.
