Search for Common Ground Driver (With Vehicle) Contract Erbil Job Overview ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVES The driver is responsible for safely driving all Iraq Search for Common Ground (Search) staff and ensuring proper maintenance of vehicles in compliance with international safe driving standards. The driver should follow Search fleet policies and procedures as well as local country traffic road rules. The driver will be mainly commuting within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) and Central Iraq (Ninewa planes, Kirkuk, etc.) KEY DELIVERABLES Key Area 1: Documentation Maintenance of the vehicle by checking on weekly basis the status of the vehicle; alert the direct supervisor in case of technical problem or need of maintenance Keep vehicle documents (log book, insurance document, OPVI) folder up-to-date Prepare Daily Vehicle Usage report, including trip use and mileage. Providing of expediting services in terms of getting governmental approvals and liaison with the police authorities Maintain a valid driver license, registration and valid permits all the time Supporting the logistics team for manual task (carrying equipment to and from office) Key Area 2: Control of Vehicles Ensure that all vehicle journeys are authorized in advance by line managers and security departments through approved TAR’s. Ensure that all vehicle journeys are to be recorded in the log book at the start and completion of the journey Ensure that the keys and vehicle documents are kept in a secure place when the vehicle is not in use Ensure all passengers wear vehicle safety seat belts before driving the vehicle and uphold all security measures regarding passengers safety during any trip. Key Area 3: Expediting Support Facilitate securing governmental approvals on different cases/matters from the government offices Liaise with the traffic police whenever the need arises Perform routine maintenance tasks within the office, such as replacing light bulbs and fixing minor repairs. Additionally, provide assistance to employees with carrying bags, packages, or purchases to and from the vehicle, ensuring their safe and secure transportation to the office. Assist with administrative tasks such as delivering official documents, letters, or packages to governmental offices, clients, or other relevant locations. Collect and deliver payments to suppliers, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Maintain records and receipts of transactions as necessary. Conduct visits to the police station/Ashiyesh office or other external offices when required for routine matters or documentation purposes. This may include submitting or collecting necessary documents, following instructions provided by the line manager. Maintain effective communication with the line manager and other relevant departments to coordinate schedules, tasks, and priorities effectively. Be open to assisting in other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the line manager that fall within the scope of the driver’s role and capabilities. Key Area 4: Accidents Immediately report to the line manager/safety and security focal point of any accidents accrued and fill the accident report. You might need to inform traffic police as soon as possible. Search reserves the right to refuse entry to a vehicle to any individual without identification documents or who cannot be identified by Search staff and in addition must fill the disclaimer sheet. In the event of a medical emergency, lifts may be given on prior approval of the Country Director or designated via radio communication with signing of the vehicle passenger waiver form available in the car. Key Area 5: Vehicle Checks Check the vehicle prior to its use in the morning and after use. Check the vehicle before departing from work. Check, on taking over a vehicle, that the items listed on the Vehicle Checklist and the items listed in the Vehicle Tools and Materials Inventory are present and in full functioning order.
