Vacancy announcement: Evaluation Consultant Organization: Kurdistan Center for International Law (KRI) Location: Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) – Sulaimaniyah Vacancy closing date: August 5th , 2023 Job starting date: August 10 th, 2023 About KCIL The Kurdistan Center for International Law (KCIL) is an academic Kurdish-German non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit, and independent center that focuses on researching and analyzing international law related to Kurdistan's communities. KCIL combines advocacy with legal analysis to protect, promote, and fulfill the fundamental principles of International Human Rights law, International Humanitarian Law, and International Criminal Law in Kurdistan. For more information, please visit our website: www.kc-interlaw.org. About the Project The emergence of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) caused untold suffering for Iraqis. The crimes committed during the war ranged from genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. At present, there is no mechanism to hold individuals accountable for these heinous crimes. The ISIS fighters and other perpetrators of the crimes have not been prosecuted for the core international crimes they committed. KCIL is currently implementing a project to integrate international criminal law and procedures into Kurdistan's criminal justice system. The project will focus on raising awareness of International criminal law, institutional capacity building to incorporate international criminal law into domestic laws and practices, and legislative reform. By involving key actors from the judicial and legislative authorities, and by training judges, prosecutors, academics, and representatives of the victims of core international crimes, this project aims to establish a foundation for international criminal justice in KRI. #All_Kurdistan_Jobs
