Position for a UE/Terminal Engineer in Erbil involving network testing, device validation, RF analysis, and troubleshooting with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
Job Announcement Position: Terminal/UE Engineer Duty Location: Erbil Job Description: This Job title is a key point in checking the network from the user side, facing the challenges as the end-user, and it is the proof of network KPIs and how is our network efficient at end-user and new RF features verification at the users’ side. It is responsible for terminal validation and testing and finding the best model to present our network for user. Job Responsibilities: · Smartphone/MiFi/CPE/any 4G device tests: thorough Internet experience test. · MiFi/CPE/Router/LTE devices/smartphone test and verification and validation · SP/MiFis/CPEs Firmware update · Testing UEs in bad coverage conditions · Quality test (drive test) for internet continuity in main roads or specific areas and trigger actions to RF dept. · Reading RF signals/modulation type/cell id/..etc · Checking APN configuration (Adding APNs and checking FW embedded APN) and attach behavior with APN, adding static IP and check the device behavior. · Checking UE, its features & capabilities, checking hotspot, double sim card tests, testing speed of CAT, VoLTE, eSIM, 5G, device secret code, battery performance, performance under high temperature conditions. · Checking the release notes of each FW and updates for main SP brands/models especially. · Keeping an updated knowledge of UEs in market and users’ reviews. (By following social media, websites, phone calls the UE companies, survey/visiting markets). · Testing new software updates of Android and iOS and devices FWs. (i.e., Re-test the UE after update especially Samsung J & A series were FL performance rarely had low speed after updates, it solved by newer Software release). · Making Benchmarks of UEs (MiFi/CPE/SP/others) for UE technical validation tests or for user experience, speed test, RF signal strength, WiFi coverage, Battery test and others as per benchmark sheet and report. · Updating and creating the tests procedures and new benchmark design · following multi-departments process flow. · Checking UE trace and UE capability and making a UE library for the network and used to identify the original or hacked devices · DNS packet delay and latency tests · Usireportmainly smartphone) tools which reports QoS, QoE & RF parameters tools. · Comparing performance & QoS report from Network and UE side. · Reading and analysis of traces of signal/traffic for device. · Opening Tickets with UE vendors. · Handling customers complains regarding UE part. (by direct contacting customers and/or via ticketing system) · Collecting system data, filtering, and tabulating, plotting according to management’s request. · Joining operation, midnight/dawn (with other departments) operations if UE tests are needed. · capturing smartphone log files · Testing OTA of devices (e.g. HOTA), connectivity & FW update. · Supporting the teams in tasks · Responsible for new 5G UE testing similar to mentioned 4G tests. · Checking and confirming the MME UE timers and proving UE is working within 3GPP standard. (advanced) · Testing RF features from UE side, like Beamforming, UL/DL decoupling .. etc (advanced) · Testing if MiFi is hackable, Awareness of hacking software of MiFis · (advanced) · Working on Linux-based OS for mobiles (advanced) · Programming for Android (Advanced) · Reading APDU trace (advanced) · Rooting smartphones (advanced) e.g trying to allow VoLTE for Fastlink. · Reading software Code and finding device configuration (reverse engineering) identify fastlink on iPhone, allow VoLTE and 5G on Samsung. (advanced) Qualification: · Minimum Experience, 2 years experience in telecommunication or mobiles Or an Additional 1 year experience in programming (added value).. · Education, B.Sc.
