VAN GYPSUM – BOARD & POWDER JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Electrical Technician Email Address: [email protected] Department: Electrical Department Start Date: 13 Jan 2026 Deadline Date: 31 Jan 2026 Location: Makhmour – Kandal, Makhmour–Erbil Road, Iraq Reports to: Electrical Manager Job Summary Van Gypsum is in a growth and expansion phase and is building a high-performing organization aligned around shared values, accountability, and long-term impact. We are currently seeking an Electrical Technician to join our team and play a key role in shaping the plant’s operational success. Responsibilities Practical experience in installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Good understanding of electrical panels, PLC, MCCs, motors, starters, and protection devices. Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, drives, and plant equipment. Basic knowledge of VFDs, soft starters, and motor control circuits. Experience in cable installation, termination, and grounding systems. Familiarity with electrical safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and safe isolation practices. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics. Experience in preventive maintenance and breakdown response. Ability to report electrical abnormalities and corrective actions. Experience in maintaining electrical logs, checklists, and maintenance records. Required Qualifications Education & Experience Technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electricity, or related field. 2–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within cement, gypsum, dry mix, or heavy industrial plants. Languages: Kurdish & English required; advanced Arabic. Technical Skills Basic computer skills (MS Excel or maintenance systems if applicable). High safety awareness, discipline, and ability to work in industrial environments. Experience in preparing shift logs, production reports, and shift handover notes.
