NYCO Group is seeking to hire a qualified Expat Oil-Flushing and Chemical-Cleaning Engineer/Supervisor to join our team for oil and gas projects in Basra, Iraq. Job purpose: Provide combined engineering leadership and direct site supervision for the safe planning, setup, execution, monitoring, acceptance, and completion of oil-flushing and chemical-cleaning activities. Key responsibilities • Conduct site surveys and confirm system boundaries and cleaning requirements. • Review P&IDs, isometrics, line lists, equipment data, and COMPANY specifications. • Prepare the method statement, risk assessment, activity work pack, temporary-loop arrangement, and execution schedule. • Calculate required flow rate, velocity, Reynolds number, pump capacity, pressure drop, filtration capacity, and heating requirements. • Select suitable pumps, tanks, filters, heaters, hoses, valves, temporary piping, instruments, and chemicals. • Define flushing direction, injection and return points, vents, drains, sampling points, and isolation requirements. • Determine chemical type, concentration, circulation temperature, treatment duration, neutralization, rinsing, and passivation requirements. • Establish acceptance criteria, including ISO 4406 cleanliness level, filter/target-plate inspection, pH, conductivity, iron content, and corrosion rate, as applicable. • Supervise equipment mobilization, temporary-system installation, inspection, pressure/leak testing, filling, venting, and commissioning. • Control pump startup, circulation, filtration, heating, chemical dosing, sampling, draining, and shutdown. • Monitor flow, pressure, temperature, differential pressure, vibration, chemical parameters, and laboratory results. • Troubleshoot insufficient flow, pump cavitation, leakage, filter blockage, abnormal pressure, temperature variation, and chemical-control issues. • Coordinate with COMPANY operations, maintenance, HSE, QA/QC, laboratory, and permit personnel. • Prepare and sign the final technical report and close-out dossier. • Train and transfer practical knowledge to national engineers and technicians. Key Requirements * bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Petroleum Engineering. * Minimum 10 years of oil and gas or industrial experience. * Minimum 5 years directly in oil flushing and chemical cleaning. * Completed at least three similar refinery, gas-plant, or petrochemical projects. * Capable of preparing work packs, method statements, temporary-loop designs, and hydraulic calculations. * Experienced with pumps, filtration skids, heaters, tanks, hoses, chemicals, and temporary piping. * Knowledge of ISO 4406, chemical cleaning, neutralization, rinsing, and passivation. 📩 Application Instructions: Qualified candidates are invited to submit their CVs to h**[email protected]**** **with "Oil -Flushing/Chemical-Cleaning Engineer/Supervisor" in the subject line.
