Standards and Training Officer – MAG Iraq (Chwarta) MAG Iraq is seeking a dedicated Standards and Training Officer to support the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of training and quality standards across mine action operational teams in Chwarta. This role plays a key part in ensuring that training activities comply with MAG’s procedures and safety standards, and in providing guidance on training requirements for staff working to clear the remnants of conflict and protect communities. The Standards and Training Officer will collaborate closely with the Standards and Training Coordinator and Quality Supervisor to develop and refine training materials, organize and document training sessions, conduct quality assurance checks, and support logistical arrangements for training activities. The position involves independent work on specified tasks and requires solid experience in mine action, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Essential qualifications include successful completion of Basic Deminer Course, IED Searcher, Team Leader, EOD Level 3, and MOI (Method of Instruction), with at least five years’ experience in mine action or similar IED/legacy clearance tasks in both urban and rural contamination contexts. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Education, Training, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years’ experience in training support or quality assurance in a standards-based environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with databases and reporting, and strong documentation and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in spoken and written Kurdish is required; English language skills are considered an advantage.
