Position Summary Hawax is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Erbil. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing payment documentation, preparing reconciliations, supporting payroll processing, assisting with month-end closing activities, and ensuring finance records remain audit-ready. Key Responsibilities • Prepare, review, and post approved accounting transactions in SAP. • Review invoices, purchase orders, payment requests, delivery notes, approvals, bank details, and supporting documents before processing payments. • Prepare and track payment packages for vendors, project expenses, payroll-related payments, bank transfers, and urgent payments. • Prepare customer invoices and maintain the Invoice Tracker. • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding transactions. • Maintain cash records and prepare cash reconciliations. • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), reconcile supplier statements, and prepare aging reports. • Record and monitor employee and project advances and follow up on outstanding balances. • Prepare monthly payroll packages, including salary calculations, payslips, bank transfer files, and deductions. • Support month-end closing, maintain organized financial records, respond to audit requests, and resolve SAP/accounting discrepancies. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably at Senior Accountant level. • Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end closing. • Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP system. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookup functions, reconciliations, aging reports, and management reporting. • Good understanding of internal controls, financial documentation, audit readiness, and confidentiality. • Knowledge of IFRS and Iraqi statutory requirements is an advantage. • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. • Good written and spoken English is required. 📧 How to Apply Interested candidates are invited to send their CV to: [email protected] Please use "Senior Accountant" as the subject line of your email. ⏳ Application Deadline: 10 August 2026 Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. #All_Kurdistan_Jobs
