CAREER OPPORTUNITY Business Development & Strategic Sourcing Officer 📍 Location: Piramagroon, Sulaymaniyah, Iraq Industry: Infant Milk Powder Canning & Packaging Department: Business Development / Procurement Reporting to: General Manager / Plant Manager We are seeking an experienced Business Development & Strategic Sourcing Officer to strengthen our supplier network and support the reliable supply of raw materials and packaging for our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will manage sourcing activities, negotiate commercial agreements, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure materials meet approved quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Identify, evaluate, and develop local and international suppliers of infant milk powder, metal cans, packaging materials, and operational supplies. • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supply agreements. • Evaluate quotations and total landed costs to support cost-effective purchasing. • Coordinate supplier qualification, documentation, audits, and material approvals with Quality Assurance and technical teams. • Monitor supplier performance and develop alternative sources to maintain supply continuity. • Coordinate procurement forecasts, inventory requirements, imports, and logistics. • Maintain accurate procurement records and report on costs, savings, and supply risks. • Identify strategic sourcing opportunities and potential commercial partnerships. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, International Business, or a related field. • 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier development, or international purchasing. • At least 2 years of experience handling industrial raw materials, packaging materials, or food-industry supplies. • Strong understanding of supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and import/export procedures. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems. • Strong written and spoken English. • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in infant formula, dairy, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical packaging, or another regulated industry is an advantage. Familiarity with food-contact packaging requirements, supplier audits, and food safety systems is preferred. CIPS, CPSM, or an equivalent professional certification is desirable.
