Senior Accountant needed to manage financial statements, ledgers, and compliance for a property development company. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in accounting software and financial modeling.
Job Title: Senior Accountant Company: Ninety-Nine Properties Development Location: Baghdad - Al-Mamoun Job Type: Full Time (6 Days 9 AM - 5 PM) Reports To: CFO Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP. - Manage the general ledger and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing. - Monitor and reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany transactions. - Handle property development project cost accounting and capitalization. - Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for development projects. - Support external audits by providing documentation and reports as needed. - Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and corporate income tax. - Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. - Work closely with project managers, legal, and operations teams on the financial aspects of developments. --- Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). - Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property development. - Strong understanding of real estate finance, construction costing, and asset capitalization. - Proficient in accounting software (Odoo, SAP). - Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling. - Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
