Vacancy Announcement Position: Education Assistant Department: Programs Duty Station: Erbil Contract Duration: 6 months Project Title: Provision of equitable access to safe education for Refugees, IDPs and host community children in Erbil Governorate Project Description: Through this project, the proposed intervention intends to ensure inclusive quality education for crisis-affected children, as well as provide access to learning opportunities for refugee, IDP, and host community children in urban and camp settings in Erbil Governorates. To address the access to education issue of the targeted population, WEO will provide non-formal education activities (remedial and catch-up classes) for IDP and refugee girls, boys and adolescents who spent prolonged time out of school or are at risk of dropping out. Three schools will be targeted with this activity. Main duties and responsibilities: · Assist in project implementation with all its aspects. · Good understanding of inclusive, gender-responsive education services. · Understand child rights, norms. · Understand the basics of formal and non-formal education. · Understanding of WASH projects, especially linked with education. · Good at developing monthly and quarterly reports. · Assist in organizing meetings and workshops. · Show professionality while liaising with schools, key stakeholders · Processing PRs for every project aspect and support the team with PRs; · Builds and maintains effective relationships, with their team, colleagues, members and external partners and supporters. · Assist with translation in meetings and workshops, if occurred. · He/she will ensure the project files and documentation are well kept. · Develops and encourages new and innovative solutions QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field • The position invites fresh graduates who are passionate, eager to learn, accountable, and responsive. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential: · Have very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (the candidates will be tested). · Have multi-task experience and/or capacity. · Been engaged in tasks that have great responsibility at work or school. · Have very good English in wiring and verbal (the candidates will be tested). · Have very good Arabic in writing and verbal (the candidates will be tested).
