Megal-co in Erbil is seeking a General Accountant to manage financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with company legislation.
Job Title : General Accountant - Job Location : Iraq, Erbil - Megal-co JOB DETAIL: We are looking for a General Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Responsibilities: • Maintaining accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions; • Perform a full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts. • Issue project cost reports for review and approval. • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies. • Establish and maintain systems for cost-sensitivity analysis and early warning of cost-overruns. • Ensuring appropriate financial control in compliance with Company legislation. • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Meet financial accounting objectives. • Any other task required from the management. • Manage all accounting transactions • Prepare budget forecasts • Publish financial statements in time • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable • Ensure timely bank payments • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity • Audit financial transactions and documents • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary • Comply with financial policies and regulations REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications and experience: Education: • BSc/BA Degree holder in Accountancy (MSc/MBA degree is an advantage). Certifications: • Strong Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft) • Sound knowledge of international accounting practices (IFRSs). Professional Experience: • +4 years relevant experience gained from a multinational company • Excellent Skills in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. • Must be local from KRG.
