Video Journalist-London & Erbil Base The video journalist produces reports, quick turnaround videos, as well as timely analysis pegged to the news, as part of the English Desk in London. Top candidates for this position will have a professional background in video journalism and reporting and demonstrate good shooting and editing skills. Ideal candidate: The ideal candidate for this position is excited about news and eager to develop new ways to cover the events shaping our world in writing and digital video format. Duties: ● Research, write and produce timely news coverage and topical analysis on a daily basis. ● Developing and maintaining a pipeline of mid-range and long-length articles. ● Seeking out primary sources and conducting original interviews. ● Covering breaking news and writing other stories, as assigned ● Pitch new and original story ideas every day to ensure timely news coverage ● Fact-check scripts and ensure all journalistic and legal standards are followed ● Complete additional duties as assigned ● Travelling to attend events, carrying out on-the-ground reporting and interviews as needed. You Have: ● At least three years’ experience working in a daily news environment ● Experience monitoring/editing video feeds and breaking news events ● Professional experience writing scripts for news stories under tight time constraints ● In addition to English, fluency in Arabic (Kurdish) is essential. please Submit your CVS to [email protected]
