Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical duties, assist in radiological procedures, manage patient care, and coordinate with physicians to improve patient experience and safety.
Job Title: Medical Assistant Reports to: Radiology and PET-CT Manager Supervises: N/A Location: 60 Meter Road, Mamostayan Qr., Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq Position Overview: Medical assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties. Medical assistants are instrumental in helping patients feel at ease in our Radiology Department and often explain the physician's instructions. They are also essential members of our Patient-Centered Medical team. Responsibilities, Duties, and Accountabilities: • Answering patient telephone calls and schedule patient appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits efficiently, optimizing patient flow. • Guiding and explaining procedures and services to patients • Updating and filing patient information • Handling correspondence, book-keeping and billing • Greeting and preparing patients for their procedure • Taking and translating medical history and performing basic examinations • Instructing patients on medication and special diets • Preparing and administrating medication as directed by a physician • Provide compassionate care and support to patients during examinations and treatments, ensuring their comfort and well-being. • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and quality improvement initiatives. • Assisting the physicians during examination • Drawing blood, inserting and removing cannulas • Removing sutures and changing dressings • Preparing referral requests for physicians and radiographers before starting the procedures. • Request and preparing all medical requirements from the store and distribute within the department. • Utilize knowledge of radiation physics to ensure proper safety measures are followed during radiological procedures. • Send examination to the radiologist to perform report through tele radiology. • Send the results from last day to patient. • Help patients who have claustrophobia to do MRI. • Preparing and giving medication to patients who have exam for special procedures before the exam. Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Education Bachelor degree, in Nursing/ Chemistry / Physics / Chemistry Engineering Experience 2 years of direct clinical experience Working Hours 36 hours per week Language Fluency in written and oral Kurdish, English and Arabic Unique requirements of the job 1.Friendly and enthusiastic 2.Strong patient care skills 3.Diploma or bachelor degree in Nursing or Physics 4.Language: must speak Kurdish and Arabic; English would be advantageous 5.Computer literacy especially in MS word, excel 6.Good communication skills 7.Flexible work hours How to apply Email us your CV through: [email protected] Subject: Candidate full name and position is Medical Assistant Example: Sara Hassan Medical assistant #All_Kurdistan_Jobs
