Position Summary The AUK College of Nursing is currently accepting applications for a full-time Clinical Nurse Instructor commencing in Fall 2023. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering hands-on clinical learning experiences to undergraduate students, offering guidance, instruction, and assessment within a specialized area of practice. Duties may also include supervision at the AUK Nursing Skills and Simulation Lab (NSSL) in collaboration with the lab faculty. Preferred applicants should have extensive nursing experience in the following clinical specialties, including: • Adult Health: Medical Surgical • Psychiatric/Mental Health • Critical Care/Intensive Care Key Responsibilities • Facilitate the successful implementation of the clinical component of the baccalaureate nursing program. • Provide direct clinical supervision of an assigned group of students in various healthcare settings based on the area of specialty. • Participate and assist in evaluating students in simulation-based learning and skills lab demonstrations. • Coordinate with nursing and medical staff at the practicum site to facilitate students clinical learning experiences. • Assess and evaluate students performance in the clinical setting and provide appropriate and timely feedback. • Collaborate with the lead clinical faculty to ensure safe and effective student supervision. • Exhibit professional and ethical behavior and serve as a positive role model for students. • Meet with students and lead Clinical Faculty to address matters of concern related to student performance and, when necessary, provide them with a recommended plan for academic improvement. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and competence in nursing practice through continuing education and professional development opportunities. • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Dean of the College of Nursing or another designee.
