Work Opportunity in Duhok – Lawyer ⚖️ Organization: Baghdad Women Association (BWA) Location: Duhok, Iraq About BWA: Founded in 2004 by a coalition of Iraqi women, BWA supports and empowers women and girls across Iraq. The organization focuses on combating violence, advocating for women’s rights, and promoting holistic well-being. Role Overview: Provide legal advice and representation to women and girls who have survived violence. The lawyer will conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, represent clients in court, and work closely with law enforcement to ensure legal protection and justice. Key Responsibilities: Provide legal protection for women and girls who have experienced violence Build relationships with law enforcement for legal support of beneficiaries Develop strategies to increase case intake and beneficiary reach Monitor relevant laws and regulations Represent women in personal status and administrative court proceedings Supervise collection of evidence to support cases Prepare daily and periodic reports Deliver sessions on legal rights and digital violence Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Law Licensed lawyer with minimum 2 years experience Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents Strong analytical, research, and conceptual skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Team player with independence in handling cases Experience with digital violence cases is a plus Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills Fluency in Arabic and/or Kurdish (spoken and written) Basic knowledge of English is an advantage How to Apply: Send your CV and cover letter to: 📧 [email protected] 📝 Subject line: Lawyer Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. #All_Kurdistan_Jobs
