The position will develop and implement strategies to raise WEO’s media profile. The Media Person will work closely with the partners and attend all the activities implemented by WEO. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Communication Coordinator in coordination with the Director of Operations and Finance, the Media Person shall perform the following duties: • Identify press opportunities through evolving issues. • Photo/ Video documentation • Develop content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites, and other distribution channels. • Manages the translation and revision of English, Arabic and Kurdish contents. • Writing reports and journal articles covering the activities of the organization. • Ensure that key messages align with vital business strategies. • Serve as the organization’s media liaison and formal spokesperson. • Conduct press conferences and briefings. • Scan the media marketplace to keep up to date on the latest media trends. • Build long-term relationships with media influencers. • Prepare accurate reports on our marketing campaign’s overall performance. • Identify opportunities to increase WEO visibility on social media (image/brand) • Answer all inquiries generated by audiences (followers, etc) on social media outlets • Coordinate with all WEO project team members to ensure that all activities are properly documented and subsequently publish them on various social networking and media sites required to make sound judgments regularly within agreed processes and frameworks using a good understanding of the socio-political and cultural context and sensitivities in Iraq Required Qualifications and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in communications/media or related. • Excellent communication skills, fluent English, Arabic and Kurdish language skills are required, both written and oral. • Excellent knowledge of the national, regional, and international media • Close attention to details • A friendly, approachable, and confident manner • A flexible and committed approach to the job • Photoshop, Illustrator and other designing programs are pluses. • Demonstrable experience with building effective media campaigns. • Ability to create appropriate content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites, and other distribution channels. • Ability to conduct press conferences and briefings. • Ability to nurture long-term relationships with key media influencers. • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills. • A natural leader who displays strong decision-making and attention to detail. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills. -------------------------------------------------------- - Please send your CV to ([email protected]). - Please state the job title in the subject line: (Media Person) - CVs in the form of IMG, pictures, screen-shots and links will not be accepted. - Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. - Applications past the expiration date of the advertisement will not be considered. #All_Kurdistan_Jobs
