Seeking an Optics Support Engineer in Erbil to deploy, install, and maintain OS on devices, manage IT tools and systems, and handle SDH/DWDM networks. Must have a bachelor's degree in telecommunication engineering, knowledge of OTDRs, fiber testers, and experience with optical products and protocols.
Job Announcement Position: Optics Support Engineer Duty Location: Erbil Job Description: The Optics Support Engineer will be under the supervision of the Optic Manager to achieve our business’ digital goals. The Engineer will be responsible for, deploy and Install OS on desktop, laptop, and mobile. Setup and install IT tools and systems. Maintain computer system and all other IT equipment. Responsibilities: • Investigate and troubleshoot problems that have been escalated by Service Desk. • Create and maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams. • Proactively assess the environment and bring forward solutions to increase network resiliency. • Doing capacity planning, network design, network device maintenance and implementation. • Handling daily activities of SDH / DWDM network from TSH and service creation perspective. • Work and interact with other team members and other related departments. • Working on Monitoring Systems (NMS) • Working on Shifts. Preferred Non-Technical Competencies: • Logical Thinking and Problem-Solving • Strong Communication skills • Influence and Consensus Building • Dealing with Ambiguity • Customer Focus • Quality Assurance Qualifications: • BSc in telecommunication engineering or relevant field • Deep knowledge of using tools as OTDRs, Fiber Tester and Analyzer. • Hands on experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Optical products with specific focus on OTN, SONET, SDH, TDM, DWDM and EoSDH protocols and standards. • In depth understanding of Optical transmission power levels, OSNR and the effects fiber impairments such as Chromatic dispersion. • One to two years of experience in telecommunication.
