Job Vacancy – Mechanical / Pipeline Engineer Company: Astyari Re Location: Sulaymaniyah / Erbil, Iraq Employment Type: To be agreed during the interview process Work Environment: Office-Based and Site-Based Working Days: Saturday – Thursday Position Summary Astyari Re is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical / Pipeline Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will support the company's oil and gas operations by providing mechanical supervision, technical support, procurement of equipment and spare parts, supplier coordination, site inspections, and supervision of installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities as required. The role requires practical experience in oil and gas facilities and the ability to coordinate engineering, procurement, and field activities to ensure safe and efficient project execution. Key Responsibilities - Supervise mechanical and pipeline-related activities at oil and gas facilities. - Conduct site surveys, inspections, and technical assessments. - Review technical drawings, specifications, datasheets, and vendor documentation. - Identify, source, and procure mechanical equipment, spare parts, and materials. - Coordinate with local and international suppliers and manufacturers to obtain quotations and technical compliance. - Supervise installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and commissioning activities. - Prepare technical reports, material requisitions, technical evaluations, and procurement documentation. - Ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements and industry standards. - Provide technical support during project execution, shutdowns, maintenance activities, and emergency works. - Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors regarding technical matters. - Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and pipeline-related issues and recommend practical solutions. Requirements - Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering. - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry. - Proven experience working in oil and gas facilities, including: - Pipelines and piping systems - Wellheads and Christmas Trees (X-Trees) - Manifolds - Gas processing plants - Compressor and pumping stations - Pressure vessels, separators, and storage tanks - Valves, actuators, and associated mechanical equipment - Experience in mechanical supervision, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities. - Experience in sourcing and procurement of mechanical equipment, spare parts, and materials. - Ability to review and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and datasheets. - Familiarity with applicable industry standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, and ASTM. - Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. - Valid driving license is preferred.
