Providing case management and counseling for GBV survivors in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, through a project run by DHRD.
Job Title: Gender Based Violence Case Manager - Location: Iraq, Sulaimaniya Province - DHRD Duration of Contract: 11 Months, full time Organization: Democracy and Human Rights Development Center (DHRD) Deadline of application: February 6 2021 DHRD is seeking ONE GBV Case Managers for a Gender Based Violence (GBV) project in Sulaymnaiya province. The project is working on preventing and responding to SGBV among refugees and asylum seekers resident inside or outside the refugee camps located in Sulaimanya and Garmyan areas. Tasks and Responsibilities: o Provide comprehensive GBV case management and counseling to GBV and SGBV survivors focused on the survivor centered case management approach. o Provide assessment both at individual and group level as the situation demands. o Within the case management process, the Case Manager performs interviews with individuals and performs the filling up process of all the cases. o Refer the SGBV survivors to the project staff or to the relevant parties to receive services as per needs and requested services by survivors and advocates survivor’s needs. o Ensure cases harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals and follow ups for an assigned case load. o Ensure to work in a spirit of collaboration with the entire project’s staff and any other partner. o Organize and maintain all the SGBV survivors’ documents and keep them in particular places created for this purpose and shall maintain confidentiality. o Performs the closure process of SGBV survivor cases as per the action plan manual set by DHRD Organization. o Prepare weekly work-plans and submit them to case management supervisor. o Prepare monthly reports per the project work-plans and submit them to case management supervisor. o Make sure that case management targets meets the project targets indicated in the project work-plan. o Maintain sustainability beyond the end of the project period and continue voluntarily to provide psychological assistance to the gender - based violence survivors who still case management assistance and support. o Provide assistance to the DHRD staff members in all activities, workshops and training courses to ensure providing best quality of assistance for the SGBV survivors in a way to achieve the project goal and objectives. o Work on full-time basis, in and off camps, from 09:00am to 04:00pm, five days a week and to be available beyond the regular project working hours whenever required. o Perform other duties that may be required by DHRD. o Respect other team members and coworkers avoid incidents that may cause disturbance for the project progress and teams. Specific responsibilities and conditions: Ability to maintain confidentiality; Impartiality: non-discrimination on the basis of nationality, race, religious belief, political views, sexual orientation, social or other status; Ability to prioritize the safety of survivors, their family, witnesses and service providers at all times; A Safeguarding, Child safeguarding, and PSEA: the Employee is expected to adhere to conditions contained in the Code of Conduct and PSEA Policies. Breaches in the Code of Conduct and PSEA Policy will be dealt with in accordance with DHRD’s Human Resources Manual and may lead to sanctions being imposed including re-assignment of duties or termination of employment; Ability to maintain strong work ethics and ability to consistently meet deadlines under pressure. Ability to lead, train, supervises, facilitate and motivate other SGBV staff in their respective tasks in a professional, respectful and supportive manner. Excellent personnel management skills, including diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.
