ob Description Junior Presales Engineer – Datacenter Solutions Company: Madarek Group – Datacenter & Infrastructure Solutions Location: Baghdad (office-based with site visits) Experience Level: 1–2 years Reporting To: Presales Manager / Technical Head Salary Range: IQD 1,000,000 – 1,250,000 (based on experience & evaluation) Job Purpose The Junior Presales Engineer supports the sales and technical teams by assisting in solution design, preparing technical proposals, developing BOQs and cost estimations, and participating in client discussions for datacenter and IT infrastructure projects. This role focuses on learning, execution accuracy, and building strong presales fundamentals. Key Responsibilities 1. Presales & Technical Support Assist in preparing technical proposals for: Datacenter physical infrastructure (UPS, cooling systems, racks, containment, power distribution, fire suppression, monitoring systems) Structured cabling and low-current systems (CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm) Support solution design under the supervision of senior engineers. Review client RFQs/RFPs and help translate requirements into compliant technical responses. Participate in site surveys and assist in preparing survey reports. 2. Costing & BOQ Preparation Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Support cost estimation and vendor price comparisons. Coordinate with suppliers to collect technical datasheets and preliminary pricing. Ensure consistency between technical scope and commercial offers 3. Vendor & Product Coordination Maintain updated knowledge of approved vendors and products. Collect, organize, and maintain technical documents (datasheets, drawings, compliance sheets). Support preparation of vendor compliance matrices and technical submittals. 4. Sales & Customer Interaction Attend customer meetings alongside sales or senior presales engineers. Support clarification of technical questions during bidding and negotiation phases. Assist in preparing technical presentations and justifications for customers. 5. Documentation & Standards Compliance Maintain proposal templates, technical libraries, and document version control. Ensure documentation complies with company standards and industry best practices. Support alignment with standards and guidelines such as: Uptime Institute (basic awareness) TIA-942 / BICSI (basic awareness) Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Telecommunications / Networks Or a related engineering discipline Minimum GPA: 3.0 / 4.0 Experience 1–2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Presales, design, or technical support Datacenter, IT infrastructure, or MEP systems (preferred, not mandatory) Technical Skills (Required) Basic understanding of: Datacenter power and cooling concepts UPS systems, precision cooling, racks, and containment Ability to read and understand: Technical specifications Datasheets Basic Single-Line Diagrams (SLD) Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Basic AutoCAD knowledge (preferred, not mandatory) Soft Skills & Personal Attributes Strong attention to detail Organized and structured working style Willingness to learn and accept technical feedback Good communication skills (English required; Arabic is an advantage) Ability to work under deadlines Team-oriented with a professional attitude Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy of technical proposals Timely submission of offers BOQ and costing error rate Responsiveness to sales and technical team requests Continuous improvement in technical competence How to Apply Interested candidates are kindly requested to send their CV to: 📧 [email protected] Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the first-round interview.
