Job Description

The Security Commander will manage security operations, minimize risks, and ensure compliance with security protocols. Responsibilities include monitoring security environments, coordinating risk assessments, and providing security training to staff.

Position: Security Commander - Duty Location: Erbil - Grand Majidi Mall Contract Type: Open-End Contract Publishing date: 1st April, 2023 open till the position is filled Starting date: As soon as possible Main Responsibilities: •Management of the security portfolio of work for Grand Majidi Mall/Hewa Holding •Minimize exposure to risk for Hewa holding operations in Iraq. •Maintain proactive information flow to Chairman and board members around key risks and mitigation strategies. Providing recommendations as required. •Constant monitoring of the security environment and adjustment of security plans and policies in response. •Ensure all staff follow security SOPs. •Demonstratable high level working knowledge of context analysis and the current environment in Iraq. •Work with Security department to manage any security concerns related to staffing. •Update and improve Hewa Holding security plans, policies, contingency plans, SOPs. •Lead coordination of security risk assessments for new areas, projects, and grants. •Maintain a high-quality incident reporting culture and system. •Supporting setting up of new sub-offices as required. •Contributes to security risk assessments for the area of operations. •Monitors, conducts or coordinates security operations. •Provide training to other security staff, guards, drivers as required. •Conduct Security induction for new staff. •Make sure to update the tracker on daily basis (Movement tracker and security approval) •Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualification and Skills: •Relevant bachelor’s degree or Security management qualification •A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the military, police, security management or analysis with a military, police or international security management organization. •Ability to take initiative to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work •Able to manage stress and pressure, well organized •Strong working knowledge of threat assessment, risk mitigation application and the ability to develop and work within an acceptance strategy. •Experience of incident reporting, incident mapping and analysis, and the coordination and writing of analytical security products and reports. •Fire and Safety working experience is desirable. •Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English is required.
