Position: Mechanical Engineer - Duty Location: Erbil - Grand Majidi Mall Contract Type: Open-End Contract Publishing date: 1st April, 2023 open till the position is filled Starting date: As soon as possible Main Responsibilities: • Controls all maintenance documents as outlined on the site master list of controlled documents. • To assigns preventive and corrective maintenance jobs to maintenance technicians as per the direction of management. • To develop, supervises and co-ordinate plant maintenance activities. • To plan and inspect completed work on plant device. • To maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence relative to work. • To acquire considerable knowledge of the process and the relevant mechanical, instrument & control and electrical system throughout the plant and apply the same to trouble shoot problems and leads the maintenance team in resolving the issue. • To train the subordinates on preventive and corrective maintenance. • To communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the company. • Act as a packaging engineer for a thermal oxidizer unit and be the primary liaison between company and supplier. • Ensure that project is technically fit for purpose from a mechanical engineering perspective and meet the statutory requirements. • To provide input to mechanical engineering input to project governance reviews. • Report on project mechanical engineering technical scope performance against the baseline plan and stated benefits of the project. • Identify the mechanical engineering deliverables, based on the scope agreed by the Project Manager, and use these as a basis to assist in the provision the project estimates and project execution plan. • Responsible for providing mechanical engineering support to the project manager to ensure that the project will deliver the required benefits and is fit for purpose. • Responsible for ensuring that all mechanical engineering technical scope change is agreed upon with the project manager prior to implementation through the life of the project. • Work with the project planner to agree on mechanical engineering resource requirements and milestones and to monitor progress against them. • Provide mechanical engineering support to the cost controller to allow the generation of estimates at project commencement and for any potential scope change. • Facilitate the generation of the mechanical engineering risks and mitigations for project risk registers, (including 3rd party risk registers) and their ongoing management. • Ensure that any 3rd party mechanical engineering contractors adhere to the overall project quality plan provided by the capital projects manager throughout the project lifecycle. • Ensure that all identified contractors are suitably pre-qualified/ assured for the delivery of the project. • Suggest methods to improve operational efficiency • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualification and Skills: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Materials/ Industrial Engineering • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience. • Experience in Chiller and AHU (AIR HANDLING UNIT) system • Firefighting system • Extensive design and project experience. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment. • Knowledge of internationally applicable design codes and standards. • Strong willingness to learn from others and develop professionally within the role. • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
