A Bank in Erbil- Iraq: Position: Information Security Officer Position Overview The Information Security Manager is responsible for protecting the bank’s IT systems, applications, and data while ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure. This role ensures compliance with CBI regulations, implements security and network controls, monitors risks across IT systems, and manages network design and operations. Key Responsibilities • Implement and manage security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection) and network devices (routers, switches, load balancers, VPNs). • Monitor security events and network performance, investigate incidents, and coordinate incident response. • Apply system and network security patches, hardening, and vulnerability management. • Conduct risk assessments, penetration testing, network audits, and support internal/external security reviews. • Design, configure, and maintain secure and high-availability network infrastructure. • Ensure compliance with CBI cybersecurity policies, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and data protection standards. • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and business teams to embed security and networking best practices into applications and infrastructure. • Prepare security and network performance reports and recommend improvements to management. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or related field. • 4+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, or IT operations (preferably in banking/finance). • Hands-on knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security, routers, switches, VPNs, and network monitoring tools. • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (CBI security standards, PCI DSS, ISO 27001). • Strong problem-solving, analytical, incident response, and network troubleshooting skills. • Preferred certifications: CEH, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, CCNA/CCNP or equivalent. Preferred Technical Skills • Security & Network Management: Expertise with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, endpoint security, routers, switches, VPNs, and load balancers. • Vulnerability & Risk Management: Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration testing, risk assessments, and implement system/network hardening. • Network Design & Administration: Configure, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN, VPNs, and high-availability network infrastructure. • Security Automation & Scripting: Use scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate security and network tasks.
