We’re HIRING Job Title: Laboratory Supervisor Reports to: Branch Manager Location: Kirkuk Road, Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq Position Overview: Directs, manages and coordinates activities of staff engaged in performing all the Medical Laboratory activities. Also, provides work direction and technical supervision for the laboratory services (All Sections), maintains high laboratory standards and upholds his total responsibility of Lab, test result, medical association, physicians and patients. Responsibilities, Duties, and Accountabilities: ● Monitor quality controls results, quality assurance requirements and established guidelines as per Lab, Department or/and section. ● Monitor safety policies, universal precautions, hazardous material management, and waste policies. ● Approves, signs and being accountable for all relevant information, specimen requirements & patient results as appropriate. ● Ensure most effective TAT of all lab results and adherence to the promised patient report time. ● Implement MDC Lab established policies related to safety, dress code, cleanliness, infection control, waste management and exposure control plan as per MDC Lab PP Manuals. ● Maintains the highest level of integrity, professionalism and patient confidentiality. ● Implement all existing / new policies related to CAP and in compliance with local MOH regulations. ● Requesting purchases based on Lab needs. ● Perform other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the laboratory. ● Validates accuracy of assigned laboratory reports. Verifies that abnormal results have been double checked or investigated and that panic values are promptly reported to the concerned physicians. ● Inspects and monitors work in progress to assure that standard operating procedures and safety precautions are followed. ● Maintains established procedures for the retention of specimen and patient records. ● Maintains established procedures for the retention of laboratory records and materials as required by MDC Quality Management System ● Assures that adequate supplies are available at all times with minimum stock available without over stocking. ● Oversees orientation and training for assigned employees in coordination with the admin section. Consults with other senior medical technologists to solve mutual problems. ● Allocates jobs / responsibilities appropriately to all staff and ensures they do fully understand these responsibilities. ● Ensures good customer retention with all concerned including patients, doctors, insurance companies, referral laboratories, suppliers, MDC Lab head of departments and MDC Lab staff. ● Establishes and documents proper function of all laboratory instruments and equipment, using proper controls. ● Assures that the equipment maintenance program is maintained and adhered to by all lab staff. ● Documents remedial action taken for detected deficiencies as identified through quality control measures or inspections ● Ensure good staff retention by continuous mentoring and developing their skills. ● Ensures participation of lab staff in MDC Lab CME program. ● Prepares in cooperation with the laboratory staff a monthly timetable including overtime and assures full adherence to the timetable. Sends the timetable to management at the beginning and end of each month for the payroll process. ● Coordinates leaves and holidays of staff in order to maintain a good workflow in the laboratory. Ensure that staff take their annual and other holidays accordingly. ● Coordinates with management when planning to take holiday / leave to ensure proper coverage. ● Accountability of fixed assets in the lab and its maintenance. ● Making sales calls and visits for any related and/or medical sector that can build business with MDC. ● Improvement of lab services, quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness. ● Perform other tasks that the company may assign based on the business requirements.
